HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Economic and Financial Law has, since its establishment, operated under the names “Business Law,” “Economic Law,” and “Economic and Financial Law.” Currently, it functions under the name “Economic and Financial Law.”

The department’s activities are aimed at preparing specialists in law and economics. Until 2014, the department was headed by Honored Scientist of the Republic of Tajikistan, Doctor of Law, Professor Ismoilov Sh.M., and from 2014 to 2017 by Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor Haistov S.P. Since April 2017, the department has been led by Doctor of Law, Professor Bobozoda J.Q.

Today, the department is one of the leading departments at the university, preparing specialists in the following areas:

  • 1–24010302 “Legal Regulation of Finance and Credit”: specialists in financial management, monetary circulation and securities, exchange lawyers, financial lawyers in banks and small financial-credit organizations.

  • 1–240103 “Economic Law”: lawyers-economists in the economic sector, lawyers in entrepreneurship and service sectors, lawyers in auditing and other economic areas.

DEPARTMENT STAFF

The department consists of 11 academic staff: 2 Doctors of Law, Professors; 5 Candidates of Sciences, Associate Professors; 1 Senior Lecturer; 3 Assistants; and 1 technical staff member.

SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT

The department maintains close scientific collaboration with all scientific institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan, participates in preparing scientific materials, textbooks, and specialists.

It also closely collaborates with research and educational institutes of the CIS countries.

Department professors regularly serve as official opponents and as leaders in the following fields:
12.00.01 – Theory and history of law and state; history of legal science;
12.00.03 – Civil law; business law; family law; international private law;
12.00.07 – Corporate law; energy law;
12.00.08 – Criminal law and criminology; criminal enforcement law.

Over the past five years, the department has published 3 textbooks, more than 10 monographs, and 10 teaching aids.

The department also hosts a club called “Modern Lawyer,” where theoretical issues of legal disciplines are discussed.

ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Economic and Financial Law has been recognized three times as one of the best departments of the university. Faculty members have been awarded titles such as “Best Lecturer,” “Best Mentor,” and “Best Head” by the university administration.
